Social Skills Groups for Young Adults
"The Place Where Young Adults Connect!"

Friendzonekids has now graduated to creating social skill groups for young adults between the ages of 18-30 years old. We continue to set up social groups where important social skills are modeled, practiced, and then implemented in real life scenarios.

For some young adults, the social skills needed to interact successfully in school, the workplace, or community are not innate. They need to learn how to proceed in certain situations before they explore them on their own.

It can be very overwhelming to approach someone new in person and initiate a conversation while also trying to interpret nonverbal communication. We have found that practicing reciprocal conversation, reading nonverbal cues, advocating for oneself, dealing with frustration, and or dealing with transition can be invaluable.

- Eager to widen your social circle, but not sure how

- What do I talk about when meeting new people

- I am always shy, or nervous in new situations

- Going on my first interview for a job…..What do I wear

- What should I do or not do

- What kind of questions will I be asked and how do I answer them

- How do I prepare a resume

- Not comfortable calling or texting on the phone

- What is appropriate conversation

- How do I know when someone is sincere and not taking advantage of me

- Financial issues are difficult for me

- Opening a checking account, paying bills, using credit cards can be overwhelming

- Would like to meet someone and go on a date, but the entire process seems hard

- How do I positively advocate for myself

Through role playing, improvisation, discussion, practice, and interaction all of the

above can be achieved.
